Service

Wallpapering

Hanging, stripping and lining — including the heavy, wide and unforgiving papers.

Wallpaper punishes bad walls. A pattern that drifts a few millimetres a drop is obvious from across the room, and a wall that was not lined first will telegraph every bump through the paper. Both are avoidable.

Why lining paper is usually worth it

Most London walls are a hundred years of filler over lath and plaster. Hanging a thin, flat-colour or wide-width paper straight onto that surface will show every ripple once the light rakes across it in the afternoon. Lining paper hung horizontally, so the seams never coincide with the finish paper’s, gives a uniform surface and costs far less than skimming.

Common questions

How much paper should I order?
Send us the paper name and the room dimensions and we will work out the roll count, including the pattern repeat, before you buy. Order it all in one batch so the shade numbers match — different batches can be visibly different on the wall.
Can you paper over existing wallpaper?
We will not. It looks acceptable for a few months and then the old paper lifts and takes the new one with it. Stripping is included in every quote.
Do you hang murals and panels?
Yes. Panel murals need the wall genuinely flat and plumb, so we usually line or skim first — that gets quoted openly rather than discovered on the day.
